with love, back to normal

2 min read

There are quite a few things “they” don’t tell you about manifesting and elevating your life.

“Why aren’t more people talking about lifestyle abrasions?”

It’s probably something I ask myself at least once a week in therapy. Truth be told, it’s been so quiet for me lately because I’ve been dealing with them. When I say lifestyle abrasions I mean:

  • The non-stop need for alone time after arriving at the next version of yourself.
  • Constant uncertainty when trying to accept your new reality.
  • A lingering pessimistic thought that tomorrow won’t be there. [but have ya’ll been in the same pandemic I’ve been in? This isn’t too far-fetched of a thing]
  • Navigating new friendships, and placing or upholding boundaries.

Each one of these abrasions, and more came to the top for me at nearly every major crossroad in my life. The neverending wonder of what could be on a new unbeaten path while not fully exploring the path you’re currently on. [IDK maybe it’s one of these new aged ADHD things, especially living in the age of the internet.]

But ultimately, I just don’t recall hearing people talk much about how once you reach a certain level of yourself, it’ll be time to do hard things. Endlessly. Often. Speedy. With no help or guidance, you just have to do what feels right for you.

I’ve found that after spending so much time in community as I tried to elevate, network, and work myself to the next level, once I reached it, I was washed. Too tired to hear another story, another projection, a single ounce of drama. And then came the retreat… and that’s the season premiere of 2022 for me.

A total retreat back to myself, to rediscover the very things I love, hate, and need the most. After working so hard to become the latest version of me, it will be nice to spend time figuring out who exactly she is. Returning back to normal.

Have you had a “season of you?” If so let me know tips in the comments on how to maximize this time within.
