Social media has truly eroded the minds of our generation and set us on a burning ship on a river destined for hell.
From podcasts to think pieces to rage bait to click bait to rent due chatter to lack of boundaries to parasocial relationships to lapse in communication to social pressures to monitoring spirits to people living vicariously thorough you to oversharing to.. i can truly go on and got damn, on. You people are becoming INSUFFERABLE.
Once upon a time, social media was a fun place to be. When you could get on Twitter, tweet your thoughts to yourself, argue and subtweet your opps or your crush, and watch celebrities crash out amongst the chatter. When you could get on Instagram and just marvel at photos of people in nature, women crush Wednesdays, food that you ate dumps, and whatnot.. now it’s man versus women conversation, ads, ads, ads, and more ads.
There is less community and connection and more ridiculous social classism. Overconsumption, over content production, over EVERYTHING.
We’re being (and many already have completed their initiation) socially engineered to live online, as opposed to going online like when we were younger, then LOGGING OFF, touching grass, and living an ACTUAL life. Now, everything everyone does is all about streaming live, showing others what they are doing, turning yourselves into real life SIMs characters.
