Greetings from Los Angeles, CA

1 min read

Greetings from sunny Los Angeles, California. I enjoyed some bonding time with my cousin, Antonio as we wrapped up his life in California and vibed our way through the city.

We stopped at Issa Rae’s Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen which was such a vibe. Antonio always has good ideas on vibey celeb spots to drop into. I loved the decor, the music ambiance (Definitely heard some frank ocean while we coworked), the murals and artwork around the location was hella black & inspirational.

We also stopped at The Salt Eaters bookshop which was incredible. That of course was my idea and it did not disappoint. I loved the old Jet magazines on display, the many book exchange and free book opportunities. It was such a community vibe and it reminded me of how businesses back in the day were so rooted in the place they were located in.. it was really inspiring and uplifting and I picked up one of my favorite reads, God Help The Child by Toni Morrison.

I was able to reconnect with an old friend from college, Jon Schuyler, who is an artist & producer in LA. Fellowship was as usual, on 100.

Overall, I had a great time, but the verdict is still out on LA.
