We all know the popular phrase “healing isn’t linear”. It’s true, but it always prompts my response of “humans aren’t patient.”
In a culture where every day seems like a new lesson, it’s easy to feel burned out from the constantly evolving and changing world around you. This can be even more anxiety-inducing with a transitioning inner self alongside the outer atmosphere.
Keeping that in mind, how do we find the balance of progress and eagerness to continue to stretch? Here are a few thoughts to consider during your healing that can shift your mindset.
You cannot heal years of trauma in a day.
Once you start the journey lots and lots of things will unearth… understand that this is a process and a lifestyle change that ANYONE is capable of completing. It is your birthright to be your best self.
Take your time with yourself. This is the groundwork you are setting for the rest of your life. Don’t rush your process.

BE VULNERABLE.
Understand that we are conditioned to suppress feelings and emotions, and that is driven by ego. No one wants to look too weak, too sad, too emotional. Feel it & progress through anyway.
It’s okay to pause your work to appreciate your growth and evolution.
There is no expiration date on your journey. There is no final destination. Keep growing. Keep evolving. Stop and smell the roses to acknowledge and appreciate your growth.
Take your time with yourself. This is the groundwork you are setting for the rest of your life. Don’t rush your process.
Be considerate and understanding of those around you.
You will grow an obsession with your new-found peace and want to protect it at all cost. Don’t project your journey for change onto others. Respect who your peers are. Everyone is on their own respective journey and no two paths are the same. Honor the journey of others as you would honor your own. Their truth. Their experience. Their healing.
