Blooming Good Vibes: My Floral Adventure in San Mateo

2 min read

Sometimes, you just need a break from the everyday. A chance to tap into your creativity, learn something new, and connect with your inner peace. So, when I saw the Centerpiece Arrangement Workshop at Luludi Living Art in San Mateo, I was intrigued. And let me tell you, it was exactly what I needed.

The workshop was held in a cute little studio on North Ellsworth Avenue, and the atmosphere was perfect. We bought our tickets a few weeks before. To our surprise, it ended up being a private event with just our crew. Talk about buzzing with excitement! Our instructors, Liza and Haley, were terrific. Liza, fresh from NYC, brought this infectious energy and passion that instantly got us all hyped.

We didn’t just jump into arranging flowers. Liza took us on a journey through the history of floral arrangements. She shared fun facts about different blooms and their meanings. Did you know that the Victorians used flowers to express secret messages? So cool!

Then came the fun part: creating our centerpieces. We all had the same base of flowers to work with, but the magic was in how differently each piece came together. It was like a beautiful metaphor for life, you know? We all have the same basic ingredients, but it’s our individual choices and creative touches that make us unique.

We were guided through the technical stuff, like how to properly cut and care for the flowers (who knew there was so much to it?). But the real magic happened when we let our creativity flow. There was no right or wrong, just a beautiful exploration of self-expression, and a strong urge to follow our gut and intuition.

I won’t lie, there were moments of frustration when my vision didn’t quite translate to reality. But that’s where the growth happens, right? Pushing through the challenges and embracing the imperfections. And in the end, I walked away with a gorgeous centerpiece and a renewed sense of accomplishment.

More than just a pretty arrangement, this workshop was a reminder to nurture my creativity and embrace new experiences. It was a chance to connect with myself and other amazing women, and to simply enjoy the beauty of the moment.

If you’re looking for a fun and empowering way to tap into your creative side, I highly recommend checking out Luludi Living Art. And who knows, you might just discover a hidden talent for floral design!
