Ya damn skippy, I did! Greetings from New Orleans, Louisiana!
Well, wouldn’t you know–Lex & Lo were off on yet another adventure. This time to New Orleans to celebrate my 35th birthday. One thing about me and my girl?? We gonna have a TIME. I know the girls be down on TikTok going viral about how the trip may make it out the chat, but the friendship don’t make it out the trip. TUH! Not me & my sister! As you know from our trip to Cabo, we 20+ years deep in this thang, AND as of November we got matching tattoos, too. Maybe I’ll do a photo dump postcard from Cincinnati with all the photos from Friendsgiving. Anyway! We had a GREAT TIME. We stayed at a haunted hotel, ate the best food, I got a tarot reading and got some goodies from Haus of Hoodoo, we went on a Whiskey tasting tour, AND clubbed like we were in our 20s! Keep reading for the run down.
Stay at le pavillion hotel
As seen on NCIS, a pit stop on the haunted hotels tour, and any other show that is based in New Orleans, this property was recently acquired by Marriott and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious, hotel bar was snazzy, and the food was great. We had spectacular service from check-in to hanging out with other guests in the hotel lobby and bar. It truly was a vibe. My favorite part was the upside down artwork to add to the spooky vibes and the nightly, complementary peanut butter and jelly sandwich with milk bar.
Whiskey tasting at The Sazerac House
This place was so informative! They make the whiskey and rum and bitters in house so the amount of information you get was, YES! We did the complementary tour of the facility which still came with whiskey and bitter sample tastings, the perfect pre-game, TBH. They offer rum cocktail making class, the complimentary distillery tour, grid whiskey tasting and much more.. but know, online reservations are required for everything!
Beniegnets at Cafe Du Monde
TUH! This is really all I came to New Orleans for! LOL look at my face! Do I need to say more!!!?
Photos at Jackson Square
Jackson Square pulses with the vibrant heartbeat of New Orleans, where history and artistry collide beneath the soaring spires of St. Louis Cathedral. You’ll find endless inspiration in the interplay of light and shadow across the weathered stones and wrought iron fences, while street performers and fortune tellers add splashes of color and movement.
WE OUTSIDE!
We partied at Treehouse, K Social, Bourbon Street, Hide/Seek, Morrow’s. Drinks, shots, dancing, singing, ladies night.. it was UP. I had to stop and have a famous hand grenade, and it taste like melon, which was good… but not GREAT. It did smack me about 30 minutes later though when I realized wait, am I drunk?!
Cocktails at Carousel Bar
Situated inside Hotel Monteleone, it’s a really cool place. The floor spins ever so slowly like a normal carousel and the bartenders are on the inside of the circle, shaking up and mixing the cocktails. It is a SUPER popular spot so seating is SUPER limited and also since it’s inside the hotel you are competing with hotel guests for a seat. I have no tips other than… be patient?
And please know, in the airport on the way home… SECURE THE BAG!
